You are welcome here!

We truly feel that First Presbyterian Church is the “Family of God” here in downtown Bartlesville.  Whether you have lived in the area your entire life or are a recent addition to our community, you are welcome and part of God’s family here.

Visit Us on Sundays

It is our hope and prayer that, after you’ve looked around here, you decide to visit us in person. When you do, we promise you will find some of the most warm-hearted and welcoming people around, the kind of people who make you feel right at home. Meet our leadership team or visit our church office during business hours.

Our weekly service is on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in our Sanctuary. Read more about our music ministry and our values and beliefs

Please park in our South parking lot or street parking found on the North and East sides of our building. Enter the doors on the South or North entrances. They will be unlocked during service times.

You are welcome to dress in casual or business casual attire. Come as you are!

We have childcare available, for all those newborn through 3 years old during all major church events. Read more about our Children and Youth ministry.

During our worship service, we have elements each Sunday listed in our bulletin for you to follow along.

  • Greeting & Announcements: Here about upcoming news and events. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
  • Call to Worship: Worship begins with God’s initiative. God calls the church into being and calls us to worship in this time and place. Words from Scripture are spoken by a leader and the people about who God is and what God has done.
  • Call to Confession/Prayer of Confession: Worshipers cannot come into the presence of our holy God without realizing our own sinfulness. When we confess, we do so for ourselves and for the church as a whole.
  • Assurance of Pardon: Scripture calls us to confession; Scripture also assures us of God’s inestimable love. This is followed by singing the Gloria Patri.
  • Passing the Peace: We take a few minutes to pass the peace and greet one another.
  • Prayer of Illumination: Before attempting to listen for the Word of God, we pray for the assistance of the Holy Spirit to open our ears to hear and our hearts to receive what God is saying to us through Scripture and interpretation.
  • Old and New Testament Lesson: The Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, comes from the pages of Scripture.
  • Sermon: The sermon is given by our pastor or commissioned pastor.
  • Prayers of the People: Part of our response to the living Word is Spirit-prompted prayer. This is also followed reciting together The Lord’s Prayer.
  • Benediction: A benediction is a blessing that is offered and received at the end as a conclusion to the time spent together and is based on scripture passages. It is followed by congregation singing the Doxology.

The first Sunday of the month we hold communion. Our greatest rejoicing can come only around the Table of the Lord as we share in communion with Christ and with God’s people.

Making God’s Love Our Way of Life

Seeking

We SEEK God in worship. Talented and dedicated musicians lead us in varied worship styles focused on loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Come, join us in worship!

Sharing

We SHARE God’s love through our study and support groups. Our many Ministries create opportunities to share in this life of discipleship and support one another in following Christ faithfully.

Serving

We SERVE our community and across the world in an effort to bring God’s love to meet the world’s greatest needs. Working closely with our mission partners, we have many opportunities to serve with local agencies. We have opportunities to serve in our church as Elders, Deacons, Trustees, Christian Educators or Small Group Leaders. First Presbyterian Church has a place for you to serve!
